What is an OVI?

It is an acronym for Operating a Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol or Drugs. It is what people commonly refer to as DUI or DWI, Ohio just happens to call it an OVI. An OVI can be a misdemeanor or a felony and it is different from other criminal charges because it carries mandatory penalties.
