What are Reinstatement Fees?

Any time your license is suspended the Ohio BMV requires a reinstatement fee before you can get your license back. The BMV will mail you a letter within weeks of receiving your OVI asking you to pay a reinstatement fee of $475. Do not pay that fee whey you receive the letter. First it is not due until the suspension is complete. More importantly, it is possible to get that fee waived if the charge is reduced to a “wet” reckless or if the ALS suspension is terminated and the fee waived.
